Art Club had their first meeting this week. It is sponsored by Mrs. Hetzler. They were working on making large origami cranes. Girls on the run is an after school club at TSGA. "Mrs. Tidwell makes us snacks, and then we talk about stuff in a circle. Then we go outside to walk and run," says Sarah Nevills. Students in mobile media have been practicing their email etiquette. They also learned how emails are sent from BrainPop. The five rules we are focusing on for email etiquette are: 1. Use a subject that explains what your email is about. 2. Always greet the person. 3. Keep your email organized and to the point. 4. Use good spelling and grammar. 5. Sign off with your email signature. Congratulations to our new student council members! Canidates gave a speech in their home room, and students voted for the 2 candidates they wanted to represent them. Mrs. Nix's mobile media class has been working on some coding skills on Fridays. Coding is a growing industry, with a projected 1.4 million openings in the next few years. To try coding for yourself, go to wwe.code.org. While heading outside after lunch, Mr. Bush's class encountered a cool insect near the door. Ondrea was brave enough to get a closer look! The insect was a praying mantis. Read more about this interesting group of insects here: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mantis |
