ELA classes are currently doing literature circles about different books. One of the selections, Hatchet, is about a boy named Brian who has to survive in the wilderness. After reading Hatchet, some students went outside with Ms. Weilert to practice their foraging skills!

SAASH Award goes to Ms. Mankameyer from Mr. Wilks.
Ms. Mankameyer has earned this award for all of the behind the scenes work she does to help the school run smoothly. This includes her managing of th career fair, Friday seminar lessons, managing EIT meetings, contacting parents, and a lot more! Let us not forget about all of the stuff that goes unnoticed, I can not count all of the times I have seen her sitting in the hallway with students who are having a rough day. Her ability to stay calm and patient are strengths that hopefully rub off on all of us. Ms. Mankameyer, this SAASH is for you. Girls on the Run have been working hard lately. They first do team building activities. They follow those up with stretching and running.
Students have started reading novels in ELA classes. They have been using literature circles to discuss the novels with classmates.
Students filled out job applications to learn about what they need to do to get a job. They also interviewed each other to practice those skills.
Students have been exploring tech stations in mobile media. They can choose between working on coding, Bloxels, Legos, Osmo, and Dash.
